As we grapple with the current health crisis and the challenges of remote learning, teaching our students about the importance of community has never been more essential. Need in Deed supports teachers as they amplify the voices of their students and bring relevant, real-world resources to the classroom.
We provide FREE training to 3rd-8th grade Philadelphia public school teachers in how to facilitate student-driven, community-centered service-learning projects with their students.
We are looking for teachers who:
*Believe in each student’s capacity to excel.
*Want to incorporate student voice into their teaching practice.
*Want to teach core curriculum standards in a real-world context that is meaningful to students’ lives.
*Want to connect the classroom to the wealth of resources, skills, and knowledge available in our city.
*Have strong classroom management skills.
