Beginning Tuesday, July 28 join the Need in Deed staff in our first ever summer online book discussion.
We will meet three times from 11:00AM-Noon over three Tuesdays: RSVP HERE
Tuesday, July 28
Tuesday, August 4
Tuesday, August 11.
THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL: TEACHERS, PARENTS AND GUARDIANS, COMMUNITY PARTNERS, BOARD MEMBERS, ETC!
We will read MacArthur Award winner Lisa Delpit’s, Multiplication is for White People: Raising Expectations for Other People’s Children.
In this seminal work, Delpit reflects on why two decades of education reform have failed to close the so-called achievement gap between black and white students.
Join one or all sessions as we discuss Delpit’s work and ways to move forward as we begin a new school year.
We will send discussion questions to all who RSVP.
Delpit’s book is available for purchase or to borrow from your public library via Hoopla:
